Everything you need to know

What does Starlapse B.V. do? +

We build custom software and provide technical consultancy for organisations that need reliable, well-crafted solutions. Our work spans the full stack: from frontend web and mobile applications to backend systems, architecture design, and technical leadership.

We work directly with your team, not around it. Whether you need a new product built from scratch or an experienced senior engineer to strengthen your existing setup, we adapt our approach to what you actually need.

What kinds of companies do you work with? +

We work with startups building their first product, growing companies scaling their platform, and established organisations that need senior technical expertise or want to strengthen their engineering capability.

If you need software built thoughtfully, or technical direction from someone with genuine hands-on experience, we are a good fit. We are based in Utrecht, Netherlands and work with clients locally and remotely.

How does a typical engagement work? +

Every engagement starts with a free, no-obligation consultation. We listen to what you are building and where you need support. From there, we go through a business analysis phase to understand your goals, constraints, and users.

We then design a technical solution together, build it iteratively with close communication, and support you through delivery and beyond. You always have full visibility into what is being built and why. See our Collaboration page for the full breakdown.

Can Starlapse join our existing team as a consultant? +

Yes. Many of our engagements are consultancy-based: we embed as a senior technical partner or lead developer within your existing team. We contribute to architecture decisions, code quality, developer mentoring, and technical direction, fitting into your existing processes and tools.

This model works well for teams that need senior expertise without the overhead of a full external agency.

What technologies do you work with? +

We work across the full modern stack and select technologies based on what fits your context best, not on preference or habit. Our current working expertise includes:

Frontend: Vue.js, React, Next.js, Nuxt.js
Backend: .NET, Node.js
Mobile: Expo, React Native
Cloud and DevOps: Azure, AWS
Testing: Jest, Playwright, xUnit
CMS and platforms: Contentstack, Sitecore

We stay current with the ecosystem and can adapt to your existing stack where it makes sense.

How do you approach software quality? +

Quality is built in from the start, not added at the end. We use automated testing, thorough code review, and well-defined architectures to keep systems stable and maintainable over time.

We design for long-term evolution: code you can change confidently six months from now is as important as code that works today. This means clean separation of concerns, tested boundaries, and documentation of decisions that are not obvious from the code itself.

Do you handle UX and design as well? +

We approach every project from a user-centric perspective and treat UX as a core part of the development process, not an afterthought. Starlapse partners with experienced UX designers and can deliver full product design alongside development when your project needs it.

How does pricing work? +

Pricing depends on the nature and scope of the engagement. For clearly defined projects we work with a scoped proposal: we agree on scope, deliverables, and price before work starts. For ongoing consultancy or evolving projects we work on a time-and-materials basis with regular check-ins.

We always align on expectations before work begins. There are no surprises. Reach out and we can give you a clear picture based on your specific situation.

How long does a project typically take? +

It depends on scope. A focused MVP or a well-defined feature set can be delivered in weeks. Larger platforms or ongoing consultancy engagements run for months. We do not give estimates before we understand what you actually need.

During the proposal phase we provide a realistic timeline based on your requirements, not an optimistic number designed to win the engagement.

How do we get started? +

Book a free 15-minute introduction call via Calendly. There is no commitment and no obligation. We will listen to what you are building, share our perspective, and discuss whether we are a good fit.
