Case study

Residential care management platform

A residential care provider was running on tools that were never designed for it. We built a centralised management platform so staff can store, manage and track resident information and daily operations in one secure place.

The challenge

Why this needed doing

Care records are sensitive by definition. Access had to be controlled properly from the first commit, not retrofitted once the platform was in use.

There was nothing to build on. Every layer, from the database schema up to the screens the care staff use, had to be designed and delivered from scratch.

What we delivered

  • Database architecture modelling residents, staff and daily operational records.
  • A Laravel backend with the APIs and authentication the platform runs on.
  • A Vue.js interface built for care staff, who need it to be fast and obvious rather than feature rich.
  • Secure storage and tracking of resident data and day to day operations in one system.

The result

Care staff got a single place to record and find what they need, replacing scattered record keeping with a platform built for the way the home actually works.

Release process design and rollout

We designed the release process for the platform that carries every incoming insurance application at one of the largest insurers in the Netherlands, ran it, and chaired the ceremonies around it. Releases became routine.
